I miss that feeling

Part of me thinks I might still be heartbroken,

That I miss you.

But I won’t allow it.

Maybe I’m just lonely

Maybe I just miss what we had,

What you were to me.

I miss how deeply you saw me,

All my little quirks,

My predictabilities,

My flaws.

You knew me for all that I am.

I miss that feeling.

You taught me what Jane Austen said best,

“I must learn to be content with being happier than I deserve.”

I just can’t wait to feel that way again,

This time with the right man at the right time.
